Wolves escape Mamba, clinch championsip title
Santa Cruz, LAGUNA - Blue Wolves bagged its first championship title as they prevailed Black Mamba, 25-15,18-25,25-17,10-25,17-15, in the Men's Volleyball Finals held at Monserrat covered court, February 1.
Team captain Archie Santos was named Most Valuable Player in the final match. Santos played different positions and roles to led his team, Marc Mercado and Jonathan Rufon contributed an attacks to overcome Black Mamba.
Blue Wolves flaunted a great start and had a good offense. Santos, Rufon and Mercado are the spikers of the team while Cosio gave an prodigious sets to his spikers to assure their win.
Wolves and Mamba are determined to take home the crowd, both teams made the game exciting when they exchanged attacks and rigorous defense.
"Kailangan masaya tapos relax lang. Tulungan as a team. One team," said the team captain Santos. "Walang bibitaw. Kapit lang! Kaya naman naten. Tiyaga at sipag lang para manalo."
On the other side, Aaron Reyes and Gio Bleza combined their scores as they led the Black Mamba forcing the game in fifth set.
In the last set,the Blue Wolves lend in their defense and took advantage in the mental-lapses of Black Mamba as they finished the set in the score 17-15.
